Saudi Boxer 'Zizo' Aims to Become the 'Arab Pacquiao'.

Psychology student Ziyad 'Zizo' Almaayouf shuts the door and turns off the light. He plays a YouTube video on his phone titled 'stadium crowd shouts and chants.'

It's August 2022, and Saudi fighter Ziyad 'Zizo' Almaayouf is days away from making his pro boxing debut on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua in Jeddah.

"I'm one of the first Saudi fighters. There's a lot of hype, and all the media are watching me. The Saudi leadership really believes in me," Zizo recalls.

Feeling nervous, Zizo closes his eyes.

"I see the fans. I'm smiling and joking. I've done my ring walk and am now talking to the ref, showing him my mouthguard."

Zizo visualizes every scenario—getting knocked down and getting back up, winning on points, winning by stoppage, and even a devastating loss.

"Visualization is crucial for me," Zizo says. "It helps me stay calm, no matter the outcome or what happens in the fight."
