Samoa has shortlisted eight NRL Grand Finalists in their 24-player squad for the men's Rugby League World Cup.

Rugby League Samoa has today named the 24-man Toa Samoa squad for the men's Rugby League World Cup which includes eight NRL Grand Finalists. The most awaited Rugby League World Cup will be held this year in England.

Samoa are the first Pacific nation to publicly declared their squad for the World Cup. 

Panthers stars Jarome Luai, Brian To'o, Stephen Crichton, Izack Tago, Spencer Leniu and Taylan May headline the 24-man squad, which also includes Eels forwards Junior Paulo and Oregon Kaufusi.

Samoa will kick off their World Cup campaign against England in the competition opener at St James Park in Newcastle on 15th October. Samoa will also face France and Greece within Group A.
