Paolini and Krejcikova Set for a Surprising Final Clash.

A new women's champion will emerge at Wimbledon on Saturday as surprise finalists Jasmine Paolini and Barbora Krejcikova meet in an exciting showdown.

Paolini aims to become Italy's first Wimbledon singles champion, while Krejcikova seeks to uphold the Czech Republic's proud tradition at the tournament.

Standing at 5ft 4in, Paolini would be the shortest Grand Slam singles champion in the Open era, and she hadn't won a main tour match on grass until this summer.

Krejcikova, recovering from illness and injury, had only won three matches in five months before this tournament.

Both 28-year-olds have capitalized on an open women's draw and are now one match away from winning the Venus Rosewater Dish.

Regardless of who wins, Saturday will see a first-time Wimbledon champion for the seventh consecutive year.
