Newcastle's Co-Owners Staveley and Ghodoussi Set to Depart Club.

Newcastle United's co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi are preparing to bid farewell to the club, marking a significant shift in the team's ownership landscape.

Staveley, known for her prominent role in sports investment, and Ghodoussi, a key figure in the club's strategic direction, have navigated Newcastle through transformative times. Their departure sparks intrigue about the future direction of the club amid ongoing changes in leadership and ownership dynamics in English football.

They initially acquired a 10% stake in Newcastle during the Saudi Arabian-backed £305m takeover in 2021. Over time, their ownership share decreased to six percent as Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Reuben family increased their own stakes.

According to BBC Radio Newcastle, Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi have now sold their remaining shares and are departing the club.

Since the takeover, they played crucial roles in the club's operations, overseeing day-to-day activities after PIF gained an 80% controlling stake in the Premier League team.

During their tenure, Staveley and Ghodoussi appointed Eddie Howe as manager in November 2021, replacing Steve Bruce. They also made key signings like Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier during their first transfer window to bolster the team's chances of avoiding relegation.
