Nafissatou Thiam clinched victory in the heptathlon at the World Athletics Championships.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist, Nafissatou Thiam clinched victory in the heptathlon after comfortably beating Anouk Vetter in the final 800m event at the World Championships in Oregon.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson, the defending champion finished eighth overall.

The Tokyo 2020 silver medalist, Anouk Vetter had gone into the final event 19 points ahead, but Thiam comfortably fought back and finished seven seconds quicker than Anouk Vetter in the 800m.

American Anna Hall settled at the third position to claim the bronze medal for her country.
