Manchester City Bounces Back from Early Setback to Preserve Perfect Record Against Brentford.

Erling Haaland struck twice, bringing his Premier League goal tally to nine, as Manchester City bounced back from an early 23-second concession to secure a win over Brentford and keep their perfect season intact.

Visiting forward Yoane Wissa scored the season’s fastest top-flight goal, heading into an empty net after John Stones and Ederson mishandled Keane Lewis-Potter’s pass-back.

Manchester City were rattled but Erling Haaland quickly restored calm, pouncing on a loose ball after Kevin de Bruyne was tackled in the Brentford box.

Despite the loss of a close family friend earlier in the week, Haaland added another goal before halftime, outmuscling Ethan Pinnock to finish Ederson's long punt.

Haaland's performance left him just shy of becoming only the fifth player in English top-flight history—and the first since 1946—to score three consecutive hat-tricks.
