Khelif Triumphs Amid Eligibility Controversy to Secure Final Spot.

Boxer Imane Khelif will compete for Olympic gold on Friday after overcoming an eligibility dispute to win her semi-final against Janjaem Suwannapheng in Paris.

Algerian welterweight Imane Khelif is competing in Paris despite being disqualified from last year's World Championships by the International Boxing Association (IBA) due to failing gender eligibility tests.

Supported by an enthusiastic crowd at Court Philippe Chatrier, Khelif dominated her Thai opponent, Janjaem Suwannapheng, to win by unanimous decision. This victory secured her spot in her first Olympic final after being knocked out in the quarter-finals in Tokyo three years ago.

Khelif will face Liu Yang of China in the gold-medal match, aiming to become Algeria's first boxing gold medallist.

"I am focused," said the 25-year-old. "I am here for a good performance and my dream. I will give everything I have for the final."
