IOC Honors Abhinav Bindra with Olympic Order for Exceptional Contribution.

Indian shooting legend Abhinav Bindra has received the Olympic Order from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the Olympic Movement.

The award ceremony for Abhinav Bindra will take place on August 10, during the 142nd IOC Session in Paris, just before the Olympics close. 

In a letter dated July 20, the IOC President informed Bindra that the IOC Executive Board has chosen to honor him with the Olympic Order for his exceptional contributions to the Olympic Movement.

The Olympic Order is the IOC’s highest honor, awarded for exceptional contributions to the Olympic Movement. 

It recognizes individuals who have embodied the Olympic ideals, achieved notable success in sports, or made outstanding contributions to the Olympic cause, whether through personal achievements or their impact on the development of sport. 

Nominations are made by the Olympic Orders Council and selected by the Executive Board.
