Indian pair Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty secured spot in the semi-finals of BWF World Championships 2022.

Indian badminton pair Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty have confirmed India's first-ever medal in men's doubles category at World Championships.

The pair secured their nations medal at the World Championships by defeating world number 2 Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi of Japan in the quarterfinals in Tokyo.

The Indian pair clinched sensational victory by 24-22 15-21 21-14 over the defending champions and the local favorites.

Previously, Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa claimed the first medal way back in 2011 in the women's doubles at the World Championships now the Indian pair Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty assured nations second medal.

In the another men's doubles category,  MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila had to bow out from the World Championships after facing defeat against three-time gold medalists Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan in the quarterfinal stage.
