The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has officially confirmed that India have been awarded to host the prestigious IBA women's world boxing championships in 2023 in New Delhi.
This opportunity has arrived after two-years span because the global governing body has withdrawn the hosting rights of men's events from India for not paying the requisite fee.
The hosting right is returning to India after a five-year gap. Previously in November 2018 the final event was hosted in KD Jadhav indoor hall at the Indira Gandhi stadium.
Umar Kremlev, the president of International Boxing Association (IBA) is on his first time visit to India and the dates for the event will be finalized during the trip.
