England's Luke Humphries won the last five legs to defeat Belgium's Dimitri Van den Bergh 16-10, securing his spot in the World Matchplay semi-finals in Blackpool.
World number one Luke Humphries started strong with a 3-0 lead, but Dimitri Van den Bergh fought back to go ahead 4-3.
Both players then struggled with nerves, until Humphries pulled ahead to lead 11-10. He dominated the final five legs, including an impressive 164 checkout, to win 16-10.
Humphries will now face James Wade, who defeated Ross Smith 16-10 to become the first semi-finalist.
Wade, who trailed 4-2 early on, used his experience to take control and secure the victory, finishing just shy of his Matchplay record of 15 maximum 180s. This marks Wade's ninth semi-final appearance at Winter Gardens.
