GB Sprinter Hughes Granted Exemption from Olympic Trials.

British sprinter Zharnel Hughes won't participate in the upcoming UK Athletics Championships in Manchester due to a medical exemption granted by British Athletics.

Zharnel Hughes, Britain's fastest sprinter in both 100m and 200m, won't compete in the UK Athletics Championships due to a hamstring injury.

Despite this setback, he's likely to secure a spot on Team GB for the Paris Olympics.

The Championships serve as the official Olympic trials for all events except the 10,000m. Hughes, recovering from his injury, received a medical exemption from British Athletics.

Last year, Hughes broke the British 200m record and later set a new British 100m record, winning bronze at the World Athletics Championships.

Although he missed the recent European Athletics Championships, there's optimism about his return for the Olympics, according to British Athletics.
