Fleetwood and McIlroy Keep Medal Hopes Alive.

Britain's Tommy Fleetwood stays in contention for an Olympic medal, with a lineup of top players crowding the leaderboard ahead of the final round of the men's golf event.

Tommy Fleetwood, who began Saturday's third round tied for the lead, shot a two-under 69 to finish the day in bronze medal position.

The 33-year-old Englishman had a steady but unremarkable round as his competitors made several birdies.

Fleetwood is one shot behind Spain's Jon Rahm, who scored a five-under 66, and defending champion Xander Schauffele of the United States.

Rory McIlroy, representing Ireland, is four shots back after a 66.

Fleetwood noted, 'My swing isn't flowing as I’d like, but I’ve managed it well all week. It can be frustrating when you can’t push as hard as you want, but patience is key, and I handled it well.'

Fleetwood, who famously led Europe to a Ryder Cup victory in 2018 at Le Golf National—where the Paris 2024 event is being held—received significant support as he moved to 13 under overall.
