Manchester United received crucial support from legendary defender Rio Ferdinand in convincing top prospect Leny Yoro to join the club.
Leny Yoro, who was sought after by top European clubs like Real Madrid, chose Manchester United this summer. He signed a five-year deal with United for £52 million, moving from French club Lille.
Rio Ferdinand played a key role in Yoro’s decision. The former England star reached out via social media and also called Yoro directly.
"We spoke for 10 minutes about Man United," Yoro said. "He told me about the club's history and how I need to be ready to fight for it, because it's the biggest club in the world."
