Derbyshire Cricket have appointed versatile players David Lloyd and Samit Patel as captains for the upcoming 2024 season. Both Lloyd and Patel bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the team, promising an engaging season ahead.

David Lloyd, previously with Glamorgan and on loan to Derbyshire last season, steps up as the new club captain for the County Championship. Meanwhile, Samit Patel, who recently joined from Nottinghamshire, takes charge for the T20 Blast and One-Day Cup.

Head of cricket, Mickey Arthur, expressed confidence in the appointments, noting both players' extensive experience and seamless integration into the team.
