British Showdown: Edwards and Yafai Ready for Birmingham Battle.

Former flyweight world champion Sunny Edwards will take on Olympic gold medallist Galal Yafai in an all-British showdown.

The highly anticipated bout between Sunny Edwards and Galal Yafai will take place at BP Pulse Live in Birmingham on 30 November.

Edwards, 28, bounced back with a win over Adrian Curiel in June after losing his IBF flyweight title and unbeaten record to Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez last December.

Meanwhile, Birmingham's Yafai, 31, remains undefeated with seven pro wins, five by stoppage, following his gold medal triumph at the Tokyo Olympics.

The pair, who have sparred together and fought once as amateurs—where Edwards won by split decision in 2015—are set to settle their long-standing rivalry.

"This fight was always inevitable," said Edwards. "Now it's time to settle the Edwards-Yafai saga and show Britain who the real golden boy is."

Yafai expressed his excitement, saying, "I'm thrilled this fight is finally happening. It's going to be huge for British boxing. Winning in front of my hometown crowd will put me right on the edge of a world title shot, and that’s exactly where I want to be."
