Boxing's Olympic Medalists: A Look at the Prize Money.

The International Boxing Association (IBA) has announced that it will offer prize money to medalists at the upcoming Paris Olympic Games, even though it won't be organizing the event itself.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will oversee boxing in Paris, as it did in Tokyo 2020, due to concerns over the International Boxing Association's (IBA) financial, governance, ethics, refereeing, and judging issues.

Last year, the IBA lost its status as the sport's world governing body after failing to meet required reforms following its 2019 suspension over corruption allegations.

While the IOC does not traditionally offer prize money at the Olympics, the IBA plans to award $100,000 for gold, $50,000 for silver, and $25,000 for bronze medals.

This decision follows World Athletics' recent announcement to be the first international federation to award prize money at the Games.
