Bayer Leverkusen roared back into form with a dominant win at Hoffenheim, putting their recent defeat to RB Leipzig firmly behind them.
Bayern Munich’s 35-match unbeaten league streak ended on August 31 at the BayArena, but Leverkusen quickly took charge in their next match.
Martin Terrier scored first with a finish from Victor Boniface’s pass. Boniface then made it 2-0 with a powerful shot past goalkeeper Oliver Baumann.
Mergim Berisha pulled one back for Hoffenheim just before halftime. In the second half, Leverkusen dominated and restored their two-goal lead with a Florian Wirtz penalty after Dennis Geiger fouled Alejandro Grimaldo.
Boniface sealed the win with a clinical strike 15 minutes from time, ensuring a comfortable victory for Xabi Alonso’s team.
