Bach Supports Khelif and Lin's Participation in Olympics.

International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach has backed boxers Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting, stating there was "never any doubt" about their status as women competing at Paris 2024.

The participation of Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting has sparked controversy since they were disqualified from the 2023 World Championships.

The International Boxing Association (IBA), previously in charge of Olympic boxing, removed them after claiming they did not meet gender eligibility requirements.

At a recent IOC briefing, Thomas Bach clarified, “We are talking about women’s boxing. Both boxers were born as women, raised as women, hold female passports, and have competed as women for many years. This clearly defines them as women, and there was never any doubt about that.”
