Australia Open 2024: Carlos Alcaraz Advances to Quarter-Finals, Linda Noskova Maintains Winning Streak.

Carlos Alcaraz won against Miomir Kecmanovic in the Australia Open 2024, advancing to the men's singles quarter-finals against Alexander Zverev.

While in women's singles, Linda Noskova and Dayana Yastremska are both in the last 8.

The 20-year-old Wimbledon champion couldn't play in the first big tennis tournament of 2023 due to an injury. But now, he's making a strong comeback.

Ranked second, Alcaraz won against Miomir Kecmanovic with scores of 6-4, 6-4, 6-0 in under two hours on Monday night at Rod Laver Arena.

He has reached the quarterfinals by losing only one set. Zverev, who's in the quarterfinals for the third time, had some tough five-set matches, including a four-hour win over Cameron Norrie.

In Melbourne Park, there have been 32 five-set matches so far, a record for the tournament.

No. 3 Daniil Medvedev, a two-time Australian Open runner-up, won against Nuno Borges by 6-3, 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-1.

He will face No. 9 Hubert Hurkacz, who defeated French wild-card entry Arthur Cazaux by 7-6 (6), 7-6 (3), 6-4.

While the highly-ranked players continue to advance in the men's draw, the seeded players keep toppling out on the women's side. And that has opened opportunities for Dayana Yastremska and Linda Noskova to advance to the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the first time.
