Jayson Tatum grabs top spot in Kia MVP Ladder
The Kia MVP Ladder of the NBA is constantly changing, and
this is well-known amongst players and coaches alike. According to Steph Curry
of the Golden State Warriors, discussions centred around MVPs include
comparisons between the highest performing players, as well as individuals
delivering standout performances for their team, with none of it easy to
control, as the conversation is ever evolving.
Curry, who happens to be the only unanimous MVP in history
(2015-2016), has currently dropped from the current Top 5 at Kia’s Race to the
MVP Ladder, which is currently headed by Jayson Tatum, with Doncic and Nikola
Dokic tied at position 2. Tatum scored a season best of 49 points against Miami
Heat, which included 8 three-pointers, and led the Boston Celtics to their
victory. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic scored his 51st triple-double in a
conclusive win over Golden State, even though the Maverick’s have had their
worst season in history with a record of 1-8.
Nikola Jokic, who is a two-time MVP, has also grabbed
attention with his contributions to Denver’s 4-game winning streak, with the
last one a decisive victory over the Houston Rockets. He has also been aided by
able teammates such as Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon and Bruce Brown.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently ranked 4,
which is unsurprising as he has scored a minimum of 30 points in every game
since November 18 and led the Bucks to three wins in a row. Devin Booker is
also ranked at number 5, and has consistently led the Phoenix Suns to victory, who
are currently on the longest winning streak in NBA, despite the absence of
Chris Paul, CameronJohnson and Jae Crowder. Booker has also scored an
impressive 96 pointsin the last two games.
