Northeast's Heroic Knock and Weather Woes Foil Yorkshire.

Glamorgan captain Sam Northeast's lengthy innings on the final day thwarted Yorkshire's hopes of victory, with some assistance from the weather.

In a tense match, Glamorgan found themselves at 372-7, just 74 runs ahead with three wickets left when play was halted due to lightning during the last session.

Sam Northeast stood firm with an unbeaten 142 during his marathon innings that lasted over six and a half hours, supported by Colin Ingram's 113 runs.

Yorkshire's Joe Root and Adam Lyth claimed two wickets each, but Northeast's resilient batting, which included 15 boundaries from 336 deliveries, denied them any further breakthroughs.

Despite Yorkshire's spin-heavy attack due to Matthew Fisher's absence, Glamorgan added 106 runs in the final morning without losing a wicket, thanks to Ingram's aggressive play.

However, his innings was cut short when caught at long-off by Joe Root, leaving Glamorgan in a strong position as they pushed into the lead just after lunch.
