Indian women's table tennis contenders, Manika Batra, and Sutirtha Mukherjee comfortably progressed into the last-16 stage at the World Table Tennis Contender Championship.
They both cruised past higher-ranked opponents respectively to seal their spots in the last-16 stage.
Manika Batra bagged the game by 3-1 against world No. 14 Adriana Diaz of Puerto Rico with a score line of 11-9, 11-8, 5-11, 11-8.
On the other hand, Sutirtha Mukherjee sidelined world No. 18 Jia Nan Yuan of France by 3-0 with an impressive score line of 11-7, 11-8, 11-7.
In the next stage, Manika play against world No. 20 Qian Tianyi of China while Sutirtha Mukherjee will face ITTF ranked 19, veteran Fu Yu.
