English Pair Poised to Make Test Case Impact at T20 World Cup.

Rob Key, the managing director, believes that Jonny Bairstow and Phil Salt have a real opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially secure the position of England's Test wicketkeeper during the T20 World Cup.

England's Test coach, Brendon McCullum, is facing a decision about who will assume the wicketkeeping duties for the upcoming series against West Indies in July.

Jonny Bairstow will have been without a first-class game for four months by then, and Phil Salt hasn't played red-ball cricket since September.

Rob Key, speaking to BBC Sport, emphasized that the choice of Test wicketkeeper won't solely depend on recent Championship cricket performances.

Instead, the focus will be on selecting the best person for the job based on the specific requirements of the role.
