Burnley Faces Second Premier League Relegation in Three Seasons.

Burnley faces the possibility of a second Premier League relegation in three seasons following a disappointing defeat at Turf Moor against a dominant Newcastle United.

Vincent Kompany's team, who clinched the Championship title last season, had a faint glimmer of hope for survival before Saturday's match.

However, after a disappointing collapse at home and Nottingham Forest's 3-1 victory over Sheffield United, they now find themselves five points adrift from safety with just two games left.

Although Burnley started brightly, they couldn't convert their chances. Vincent Kompany was particularly frustrated when the referee didn't award a penalty for Bruno Guimaraes' challenge on Lorenz Assignon in the box.

Newcastle United seized the initiative with their first attack, with Callum Wilson scoring after Arijanet Muric spilled Alexander Isak's shot.

Eddie Howe's team then took control, adding two more goals before halftime through Sean Longstaff and Guimaraes.

Despite a penalty save from Muric, Isak scored his 20th league goal of the season, sealing Newcastle's victory.
