Novak Djokovic says he is "extremely disappointed" with a court decision to deport him from Australia and prevent his defence of the Australian Open.
Novak Djokovic is fighting for deportation and cancellation of his visa in Australia's federal circuit and family court. Where an Australian judge ordered his release from detention. His visa was canceled last week because he had not been vaccinated, which has now been reinstated. Public prosecutor Christopher Tran told the judge after the verdict that the Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Overseas Services and Multicultural Affairs, Alex Hawke, "would consider whether to exercise personal power of revocation". This would mean that Djokovic could face relegation again and miss the Australian Open, which starts on January 17.

Belinda Bencic and Ons Jabur have both tested positive for Covid-19 after playing in Abu Dhabi. They are the third and fourth players to test positive. Rafael Nadal revealed that he had tested positive upon his return to Spain. In a Twitter post, Bencic said: "Unfortunately and even though I have been fully vaccinated, I recently tested positive for COVID-19. "I am currently in isolation and taking all precautionary measures to get through this as best as possible as I am experiencing quite severe symptoms (fever, pain, chills)."
