Sania Mirza along with her partner Nadia Kichenok announced her retirement after losing in the first round of the Australian Open women's doubles. They lost to Tamara Zidansek and Kaja Juvan of Slovenia.
The 35-year-old tennis star said in a post-match press conference: "There are many reasons for this. I think it's taking longer for me to recover and my son is three years old, I think I can travel so much with him to him. putting us at risk. Unfortunately the pandemic is making us decide decisions for the betterment of us and the family,"
