Unrelated Incidents: BHA Addresses Newton Abbot Horse Deaths.

A preliminary investigation by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has determined that the deaths of four horses at a Newton Abbot race meeting were not connected.

Four horses suffered fatal injuries during a meeting on Tuesday, June 25th at Newton Abbot.

Hallowed Rose fell and Bala Brook was pulled up in the same handicap hurdle race, while Cuzzicombe and Happy Helen were pulled up in other hurdle contests.

The seven-race card was run on ground rated good to firm in places.

A detailed investigation by the BHA's Fatality Review Group is ongoing.

The BHA stated that their Racecourse and Facilities Manager found no issues with the racing surface or other facilities at the track, following a thorough inspection and assessment of the track's maintenance records.

The BHA also noted that each injury occurred under unique circumstances, with no external factors linking the incidents.
