Scotland XV Features Five Debutants Against Canada.

Gregor Townsend has selected five players who will make their debut in Scotland's lineup for Saturday's summer tour opener against Canada.

Scotland's lineup for their summer tour opener against Canada in Ottawa features five debutants: Edinburgh centre Matt Currie, Sale Sharks' Arron Reed on the wing, scrum-half Gus Warr, and Glasgow Warriors' Max Williamson at lock and Gregor Brown in the flanker position.

On the bench, Northampton Saints' Robbie Smith, Glasgow's Nathan McBeth and Oyonnax's Ewan Johnson, alongside Leicester Tigers' Will Hurd and Edinburgh's Ross McCann, could also earn their first Scotland caps.

Prop Rory Sutherland leads the team with 30 caps, while Matt Fagerson (44 caps) and Kyle Steyn (19 caps) bring experience from the bench. Co-captains Luke Crosbie (eight caps) and Stafford McDowall (two caps) also bolster the team's depth.

Following their match against Canada, Scotland will face the United States (July 12), Chile (July 20), and Uruguay (July 27), with the latter two matches broadcast live on BBC Scotland and iPlayer.
