Raducanu Advances, Setting Up Gauff Showdown with Kartal.

Emma Raducanu sailed past Elise Mertens of Belgium to advance to the third round at Wimbledon, where she will join fellow Briton Sonay Kartal.

Former British number one Emma Raducanu, making a spirited return to Wimbledon with a wildcard, delivered a commanding performance in a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Elise Mertens. Her precise and confident play showcased her readiness for the Championships.

Raducanu's triumph followed shortly after an impressive upset by 22-year-old qualifier Sonay Kartal, who secured the biggest win of her career against France's Clara Burel in a thrilling three-set match. 

Ranked 298th globally, Kartal's 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 victory made her the first British player to advance to the third round at Wimbledon this year.

Next up for Kartal is a challenging match against US Open champion Coco Gauff, who powered through her match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Anca Todoni. 

The stage is set for an exciting clash between Kartal and Gauff in the upcoming round at Wimbledon.
