The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is going from bad to worse for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Recently they have been handed a massive blow in the form of Washington Sundar's injury.
The franchise officially confirmed that the all-rounder suffered a hamstring injury and will miss the remainder of the tournament
After losing five out of their seven league matches, the Orange Army is languishing in the ninth position in the points table.
The 23-year-old, Sundar endured a dismal campaign with the ball and was wicketless in the five games before he scalped three wickets in an over in the last league game against Delhi Capitals. With the bat, he has scored 60 runs in five innings at an average of 15 and a strike rate of 100.
Sundar was signed by SRH for INR 8.75 crore at the 2022 mega-auction.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will square off against the David Warner's Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 29 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It remains to be seen if the orange outfit will be able to turn the tables and kickstart a winning streak to climb up the IPL 2023 points table.
