World Para Swimming Championships: Two records in one day in Men's 50m freestyle.

The men's 50 meters S4 freestyle world record was broken twice in one day at the World Para Swimming Championships in Madeira.

New Zealander Cameron Leslie set a new world best with a time of 36.75sec at the Funchal Swimming Pools Complex, accomplishing his own benchmark by 0.27 sec.

After clinching the bench mark Leslie said "I enjoy the 50 meters freestyle so I’m going to go hard and leave it all out there."

Israel's Ami Omer Dadaon won heat one and then proceeded to the finals, winning in 36.25 sec to overcome Leslie's record and entitled his name at the top. Later Ami Omer Dadaon was declared as the 'Paralympic champion' in the 50m freestyle.

Fantin set a new championship record in the men's 50m freestyle S6 with his time of 29.16 while Barlaam triumphed in the men's 400m freestyle S9.

Italy currently leads with 19 golds while the United States and Brazil follow behind on 16 and 15 respectively.
