FIFA has decided to increase the size of the squads and as a result approved 26-mans squad for the teams in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.
Previously, coaches were allowed to bring 23 players along to each tournament. Now from this year's World Cup FIFA committee will allow to include a maximum of 26 players in their final squads for the World Cup this year.
Further FIFA committee announced that "No more than 26 people (up to 15 substitutes and 11 team officials among which one of these officials must be the team doctor) will be allowed to sit on the team bench."
World Cup teams can also now use five substitutes in the regulation 90 minutes instead of three.
FIFA asked all 32 countries to submit their final squads by 20th October i.e., 30 days before the first game between Senegal and the Netherlands at the Al Thumama Stadium.
