Great Britain's Jake Wightman clinched his nation's first gold medal in 1500m sprint at World Athletics Championships 2022 in Oregon.
The 28-year-old, speedster Jake Wightman finished the 1500m track in just three minutes 29.23 seconds and secured his win.
Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen was leading in the final lap, but Wightman produced a brilliant final burst to pass Ingebrigtsen and clinch the title. Ingebrigtsen was unable to react and the Great Britain's athlete held on to take the biggest win of his career.
Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen took silver in 3:29.47, with Spaniard Mohamed Katir finished the track in 3:29.90 seconds to claim bronze.
Jake Wightman became the first British man to win the world 1500m title since Steve Cram in 1983.
