Thomas Ceccon broke the first world record of the World Aquatics Championships 2022 and recreates a new record by winning the 100m backstroke.
Previously the record was named to Ryan Murphy who finishes the 100m backstroke diving in 51.85 seconds in 2016.
Breaking the record Thomas Ceccon finishes off the 100m backstroke diving in just 51.60 seconds which is just 0.25 seconds better than Murphy.
In this current World Aquatics Championships 2022, Thomas Ceccon clinched the gold medal, Murphy claimed silver, while compatriot Hunter Armstrong was third in the men's 100m backstroke dive.
Receiving the gold medal in the podium Ceccon expressed that "I didn't think of any record or time before the start, I just swam my own race. For me, it's simply unbelievable to achieve both the titles."
