Women's T20 World Cup: Harmanpreet Kaur Acknowledges India's Capability to Defeat Australia.

Harmanpreet Kaur has long been haunted by near misses, but the Indian captain believes her team has addressed all the key areas needed to succeed in the Women's T20 World Cup starting in the UAE on October 3.

Since its start in 2009, India has reached the Women's T20 World Cup final only once—in 2020, when they lost to arch-rivals Australia. They also played in the WODI World Cup final in 2017.

Harmanpreet Kaur has been part of both teams and captained during the 2020 T20 World Cup.

"This is the strongest team we have. The players have been together for a long time. We came so close last time and lost in the semifinals (2023)," Harmanpreet said at the pre-departure press conference for the T20 World Cup starting October 3.

India hasn't played since late July, when they unexpectedly finished as runners-up to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup.

They held an extensive training camp at the NCA, focusing on fitness and fielding—areas where the team has struggled in the past.

The conference also included head coach Muzumdar and chief selector Neetu David, who made a rare appearance.
