Wiffen Secures Bronze in 1500m Final, Earns Second Olympic Medal.

Daniel Wiffen claimed his second medal of the Paris Olympics with a third-place finish in the 1500m freestyle final, which was won by the USA's Bobby Finke.

Bobby Finke set a new world record with a stunning time of 14:30.67 in the 1500m freestyle final, surpassing the previous record held by China's Yang Sun.

Italy's Gregorio Paltrinieri finished second with 14:34.55, while Daniel Wiffen took third with a time of 14:39.63.

The La Defense Arena erupted as Finke crossed the finish line, setting the record.

Representing Team Ireland, Wiffen had already won gold in the 800m freestyle earlier in the week, becoming the first Northern Irish athlete to win Olympic gold in 36 years and the first from Team Ireland to earn multiple medals in the same Games in 28 years.

With six medals in Paris, Ireland has matched their best-ever haul from London 2012. This year has been a breakthrough for Wiffen, who has now added Olympic gold and bronze to his two World Championship titles in the 800m and 1500m freestyle from Doha in February.
