Whistleblower Reveals Dujardin Video to 'Save Dressage'.

The whistleblower who released a video allegedly showing Charlotte Dujardin excessively whipping a horse during training did so to "save dressage," according to their lawyer.

Britain's Charlotte Dujardin, a six-time Olympic dressage medalist, withdrew from the Paris Games on Tuesday after a video showed her "making an error of judgement" by excessively whipping a horse during training.

The footage, obtained by the BBC, shows Dujardin repeatedly whipping the horse's legs.

Following her withdrawal, the 39-year-old was provisionally suspended by equestrian's governing body, the FEI, which received the video on Monday.

Dujardin expressed deep regret, stating, "What happened was completely out of character and does not reflect how I train my horses or coach my pupils. There is no excuse. I am deeply ashamed and should have set a better example in that moment."

The whistleblower's lawyer, Stephan Wensing, told BBC Sport that his client has mixed feelings about the reaction but believes this issue is widespread in dressage.
