Waqar and Misbah Among Five New Mentors Appointed by PCB for Domestic Leagues.

Less than a month after starting as the PCB chairman's advisor on cricket affairs, Waqar Younis has ended his stint in that role.

The former fast bowler and coach is now set to serve as a mentor for one of the five teams in the new domestic competitions the PCB is launching this season.

Waqar Younis will be joined by Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed as mentors for the new domestic competitions.

Their first task will be the Champions One-Day Cup, running from September 12 to 29 in Faisalabad.

The PCB has confirmed that Sarfaraz, currently part of the Test squad for the Bangladesh series, will continue his playing career.

Waqar was initially set to take on a new role as the board's cricket head, designed to ease the burden on PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. He even appeared with Naqvi at a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium to announce this role.
