Wales Dismisses Manager Page.

After three and a half years at the helm, Rob Page has been dismissed from his role as manager of the Wales national team.

Rob Page, 49, has been dismissed as Wales' manager after leading the team for three and a half years.

Page successfully guided Wales to their first World Cup in 64 years and to the second round of Euro 2020. However, the recent failure to qualify for Euro 2024, coupled with poor friendly performances against Gibraltar and Slovakia, led to his departure.

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) deliberated for over a week before deciding that a managerial change was necessary.

Page's tenure had already been under scrutiny following a disappointing 2022 World Cup and a shocking home defeat to Armenia during Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Despite a significant victory over Croatia, Wales' hopes for a third consecutive European Championship ended in a penalty shootout loss to Poland in March.

Initially, the FAW expressed support for Page, with president Steve Williams affirming his position for the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign. However, less than three months later, the FAW concluded that a new direction was required.
