Virat Kohli said that he was informed about the decision of ODI captaincy one and a half hours before the announcement of the Test team

Virat Kohli said in a press conference: "I haven't had any communication with BCCI that I want to rest"

"I was contacted one and a half hours before the selection meeting on December 8 for the Test series." “There was no prior communication from me when I announced the T20I captaincy decision, until the 8th (December) where, as I said, I got a call an hour and a half before the selection meeting.

"When I decided to step down from T20I captaincy and contacted BCCI about my decision, it was well received - there was no offense or hesitation, I was not asked to reconsider it"
