Aston Villa has responded to fan criticism over their Champions League ticket prices, stating that "tough decisions" are necessary to remain competitive.
Aston Villa faced criticism last week for being "out of touch" after announcing ticket prices up to £97 for their home Champions League games.
Tickets for the four matches, under the new 36-team format, range from £85 to £97, while season-ticket holders receive reduced prices of £70 to £82.
The club will host Bayern Munich, Bologna, Juventus, and Celtic, marking their first return to the Champions League in 41 years.
While the Aston Villa Supporters' Trust (AVST) criticized the pricing, Chris Heck, president of business operations, explained that these decisions are necessary to balance fan passion with the club's financial needs.
