Third seed Carlos Alcaraz faced a shocking second-round exit at the US Open, losing decisively to unseeded Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp.
Carlos Alcaraz was aiming to join Rod Laver and Rafael Nadal as the only players to win the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open in the same year.
However, he struggled against world number 74 Botic van de Zandschulp, who won 6-1, 7-5, 6-4, marking the biggest win of his career.
The loss ends Alcaraz’s 15-match Grand Slam winning streak. Alcaraz admitted, "My level stayed the same throughout the match, and it wasn't enough to compete or give myself a chance."
