The United States resisted a strong European comeback in Saturday's Solheim Cup opening session, keeping their four-point lead.
After a tough first day where the US took a 6-2 lead, Europe needed a strong start on Saturday. They were ahead in three of the four matches by halfway.
However, the US fought back to draw the alternate shot foursomes session, and they could have even won 3-1.
Europe captain Suzann Pettersen expressed pride in her team’s comeback, noting, "We hoped for 3-1, and while some were disappointed, I’m proud of their performance. We could have a strong afternoon and get back in the game."
US captain Stacy Lewis remarked, "That finish gave us the momentum we needed."
