Unearthed Talent: UK's NFL Hopefuls Discovered in a Furniture Store.

While most athletes start their journeys on the field or court, one young Londoner’s path began with a surprising encounter.

"I was in a furniture shop in Orpington, South London, when the defensive line coach approached me," recalled Nana Agyemang. "He noticed my build and thought I had potential."

The sport the coach had in mind was American football, which Agyemang had never played before. The coach was from the NFL Academy in Loughborough, which scouts talent across Europe and Africa to develop future NFL stars outside North America.

"At the time, I was too young to join the academy, so he gave my mom his card. When I turned 16, I applied for the trials and got in," Agyemang said.

Now 18, Agyemang is in his final year at the academy, where he's made his mark as a defensive lineman.
