Ulster Falls Short Against Lions in Thrilling URC Showdown.

Ulster faced their first defeat of the new United Rugby Championship season, managing to secure a bonus point despite losing 35-22 to the Lions in Johannesburg.

Rabz Maxwane and Francke Horn scored early tries for the Lions, putting them ahead. John Cooney responded with a try for Ulster, leaving the score at 15-5 at halftime.

In the second half, the Lions extended their lead with tries from Franco Marais, Henco Van Wyk, and Kade Wolhuter, securing a bonus-point win.

Ulster replied with second-half tries from Aidan Morgan, Werner Kok—making his first start for the team—and Corrie Barrett.

This was the Lions' first match of the URC season after losing the Currie Cup final last week, while Ulster had started their campaign with a last-minute win over Glasgow.

Next, Ulster will head to Pretoria to face the Bulls on October 5.
