Poland has decided to boycott the World Cup play-off against Russia. The president of the Polish Football Federation, Cesari Kuleza, has said that the team "does not intend" to play the sport.
"We cannot pretend that nothing is happening", said captain Robert Lewandowski.
Striker Levandovsky, 33, his country's all-time top goalscorer, said: "I can't imagine playing a match with the Russian national team in a situation when there's an armed offensive in Ukraine. Russian footballers and fans are not responsible. But we can't pretend that nothing is happening."
