UK Athletics Leader Steps Down Just Ahead of Paralympics.

Tom Paulson, the head of Paralympic performance at UK Athletics, has resigned just two weeks before the world championships and with less than four months left until the Paralympics.

Chief executive Jack Buckner announced that Tom Paulson, head of Paralympic performance at UK Athletics, has made the "difficult decision" to resign, although no specific reason was given for his departure.

Paulson had held the position since 2022, coming from a similar role at the English Institute of Sport. Buckner thanked him for his contributions and wished him well in the future.

Katie Jones will step in as the interim replacement, currently serving as the organisation's Paralympic podium potential manager. Buckner expressed confidence in this transition and assured that it would not disrupt the delivery of their world-class program.

The World Para Athletics Championships are scheduled for 17-25 May in Kobe, Japan, followed by the Paralympics commencing in Paris on 28 August.
