UFC Fighter Escapes Drive-By Shooting in Florida.

UFC fighter Ramon Taveras reported that a "group of armed men" attempted to shoot him outside his mother's home in Duval, Florida.

On July 29, UFC fighter Ramon Taveras, 30, shared doorbell footage showing a car driving by and opening fire as he left his mother’s house in Duval, Florida.

Taveras, who was born and raised in Jacksonville, lost his brother to gun violence in 2019, and the perpetrators remain at large.

On Instagram, Taveras expressed his distress, saying, "My family feels unsafe, and I fear for my children, who nearly lost their father. It’s tragic that I have so much love for my city, yet I feel forced to leave."

In 2023, Jacksonville saw 157 homicides, with shootings accounting for 123 of those deaths. Taveras has reported the incident to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
