The world number one surged to victory over Taylor Fritz in the US Open final, securing his second Grand Slam of the year.

Just days before the tournament, it was announced that Jannik Sinner had been cleared of wrongdoing after testing positive for a banned substance earlier in the year. The International Tennis Integrity Agency determined that he had been unintentionally contaminated by his physiotherapist, Giacomo Naldi.
